Asus zenfone 5 ZE620KL is a new device from Asus which was launched in the end of may in China.This is the new variant of the previous Zenfone 5 . It is a mid range smart phone & comes with a very good specification. In this post we will discuss about its price, specification & performance.

Build Quality

Asus zenfone 5 ZE620KL has a nice build quality. here is metal on the top-bottom-both side with aluminium+glass coating on both front & back . On the back there is dual vertical camera with Dual tone LED flash. In the middle there is a Fingerprint sensor. Below that there is Asus branding .On the bottom of the phone you will found a 3.5 mm headphone jack & a stereo speaker with USB type C. On the right there is Sim & MicroSD card slot & left there is Volume button & power switch. On the front you will find a 6.2 inch display with a 8 mp selfie camera. On the Front there is a notch & you will also find some big noticeable chin. Phone's Dimension is 153 x 75.7 x 7.9 mm (6.02 x 2.98 x 0.31 in) & weight is 155 g (5.47 oz) .

Display

Asus zenfone 5 ZE620KL has a 6.2 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display which resolution is 1080 x 2280 pixels ,18.7:9 ratio (~402 ppi density). It also comes with a 19:9 ratio & It also has 16M colors. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 . The display looks a little bit more saturated but I think it is one of the best display in this price range.

Hardware & Software

Asus zenfone 5 ZE620KL has a pretty powerful hardware section. his device is introduced with Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 chipset which clock speed is Octa-core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260.The GPU of the phone is Adreno 509, which is very capable of handling most of the higher graphics games. We don't find any lag on the device & the gaming experience is quite good but it doesn't full fill our expectation. Moreover I can say the phone has done well as a mid range device & it is not for hardcore users.

The phone comes with ASUS ZenUI 5.0 based Android 8.0 Oreo. On the software section I have to say Asus has done very well. The device is fluent & there is no lag but the animation was little bit slow.

Camera & Video

Asus zenfone 5 ZE620KL comes with Dual camera and Dual tone LED flash on the back. The Main Sensor is 12 Mega Pixel with f1.8 aperture with 4-axis OIS & EIS & AI feature & Secondary is 8 Mega Pixel with f2.0 aperture ,which is a wide angel lens. The Primary camera can take good pictures in the sun light but don't expect too much good photo it will take in low light. The primary camera has good focus point , shutter speed but the problem is in light & color balancing. For me it is happening because of poor AI optimization . The AI photo capture quality is good & eye catching. The portrait mode of the camera can take good picture according to lighting condition & edged detection quality is good. The low light picture is not good in poor lighting condition but AI feature is helping the camera in low light by pumping the light. The wide angel secondary camera can take some good picture in sun light .

So all over I can say the phone primary camera is average in terms of price. 

The selfie camera is good & can take really good picture. The selfie camera has also portrait & beauty mode.

The phone can shoot 4k video & because of the EIS & OIS the quality of the video is good. You can also shoot slow emotion video at 240 fps. Overall the video quality of the phone is good but don't expect much in low light.

STORAGE

This Phone comes with 2 variants. 4GB/6GB Ram with 64GB Rom.

There is no dedicated slot for MicroSD card expension, but the sim slot is hybrid & you can use a sim with a microsd card at a same time.

Battery 

The phone comes with a 3300 mAh battery with fast charging. The performance of the battery is good & in moderate use it can run a whole day. It takes 2 hours to charge the phone from 0 - 100%

Cons

1. Not a budget friendly phone/ Overpriced
2. No dedicated MicroSd Slot
3. Average camera performance in low light
4. Face unlocking is little bit slow because of animation
5. Gaming has some frame drop issue ( can fix with OTA )
6. The device will definitely broke if you put down it on the floor because of glassy back.
