Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) is a another low budget smartphone from Samsung in 2018.

Samsung done a very good job in providing Flagship phone such as Samsung Galaxy S8, Note8, S9+.

But in low budget segment they are just providing trash like Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018).

I am not a hater of any phone company but sometimes we need to use hard words against this kinds of product.

At first I am going to give you a review of Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) and explain you why I am calling it a trash.

Display & Build Quality

Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) comes with a 5.5 inch HD display with  16:9 ratio. First of all in 2018 Where all other brands trying to make bezel less 19:9 ratio phone, at that time Samsung still offering us 16:9 ratio phone. Then talk about resolution.Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) has 720 x 1280 pixels HD resolution display, where other contender like Oppo realme 1/Asus Zenfone max pro m1 has 1080p FHD Display. The display type is Super Amoled capacitive touchscreen, which is good but still 16:9 ratio display doesn't make any sense.

Now talk about Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) build quality. It was made with cheap plastic both is the front & back. On the back you will find a single camera with LED flash & on the below there is Samsung Brand Logo. On the top there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack & on the bottom you will find USB 2.00 Port. On the top of the display there is a selfie camera with LED flash & bottom there is a capacitive button plus 2 function key. The backpart can be removable as you can change the battery .

As far as talk about its build quality, Samsung uses a very poor & cheap quality material. If you compare this phone with other same price category device like Oppo realme 1/Asus Zenfone max pro m1 they done more good job with styling & Material choice.

Hardware & Software

Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) is powered by Exynos 7570 processor which clock speed is quad core 1.4Ghz  Cortex A-53 & the GPU is Mali T720-MP2. If you talk about this chipset than its a old chipset from Samsung .Now a days most of the company using octa core instead of quad core because octa core is more powerfull than quad core.But Samsung still providing quad coe phones, which is really shame. I don't have any problem with Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) chipset & GPU but if you are playing high graphic games with this device than it surely gonna lag & the device gonna heat up. So I should alarm gamers to stay away from this device.

Now talk about its software. It is running on Samsung experience UI  based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

Because this phone has 2GB Ram + 16 GB Rom , sometimes you will find some lag & remember the UI is some sort of top-heavy , so if you want a clean UI you should stay away from it.

Camera & Video

Samsung Galaxy J4 (2018) has a single 13 Mega Pixel (f1.9 aperture,28mm) on the back with LED flash.  This camera can take good picture on the day but unfortunately the camera is very poor on low light. The front camera is 5 MP (f2.2 aperture) with LED flash. The front camera is also act as like as its back camera (good picture in day but not at night). The top feature of the rear camera is Auto focus, Geo-tagging, Touch Focus, Panorama, HDR . This phone cannot take photo in portrait mode.This phone doesn't have AI features too.

In video department this phone can shoot 30fps,1080p (max) average video.

Our recommendation : 

If you are a fan boy/Girl of Samsung brand or love Samsung logo than Purchase it. If you are not than go for Realme 1 or Honor 7c or Asus Max pro m1 or Redmi y2.
